Help John out!

Welcome! And to start things off, I will tell you about what's going on.

My name is John Mizerek, many of you may have seen me around the Santa Monica AA scene lately. I recently spent four months at the Salvation Army here in Santa Monica and I left on November 23rd, 2024.

When I left I had a great exit plan that was formulated with the help of two people in AA that I deeply trust, and who have almost 70 years total sobriety between them. As we all know by now, everything does not always go as planned and now I find myself in a highly challenging housing market and currently not-yet-employed. I have been "hired" by Wendy's however hours for all employees have been cut recently due to the fire situation and consequantial reduced business, which means zero hours for me. I'm starting to get regular interviews (2-3 a week) for all sorts of part time jobs but nothing has panned out yet.

On the subject of my current housing, for the time being I am staying at a hostel in Santa Monica, a two-bedroom house that's essentially full of triple-bunk beds with two bathrooms for the whole house. It is not ideal but it is absolutely satisfactory. Problem is my financial means are stressed to the limit and I cannot afford it alone. I need help!

I'm in the process of getting into the system for a stay at Samoshel however I have been told that will take at least two months. This is where you come in! I'm hoping to raise the funds to keep me in my current location until my job can cover the rent, which may be up to 30-45 days the way things look right now.

If I pay for a full week at a time, it's only $180 per week. I have EBT that feeds me very health-fully, and GR ($221/month) that covers my incidentals. But I need help paying for the actual accomodations until those sweet paychecks start flowing.

Can you help me out in any way?
